I don't know exactly why, but ever since first reading about the Turbo Grafx 16.. I wanted one. All of my other friends were going crazy over the Genesis, but I kept gravitating towards the underdog. Maybe it was the insane size of the bosses that I saw in Legendary Axe...
Maybe it was the pack in game Keith Courage in Alpha Zones actually... oh hell no, no way with cover art like this.

Keith Courage in... what the hell? |
Hmmmm.. maybe it was all of those rad commercials...
Or maybe it was the fact they fit all the game data on those uber cool credit card size Hu Cards. As an 11 year old, these really intrigued me! Even cooler, you could use these babies in the Turbo Express handheld system. Of course this card format wasn't new, the Sega Master System had started doing this several years before the turbo grafx system was released.
Quite possibly, it was the overly happy kid on the systems box?
I dunno... but I wanted one, and on Christmas morning in 1989 I got my wish.
I have loved this system since I first plugged it in and booted up Bonks Adventure. My name is Rich Douglas, I'm a professional composer in the video game industry, a retro game enthusiast, and a Turbo Addict. Over the next year or so, I plan on playing through all 94 of the US Turbografx 16 hu cards in alphabetical order from A to Z and posting my thoughts, rants, reviews, and woes every time I play one of the games. Why am I doing this? Well, as a contract composer I have downtime... sometimes a week or more. Sure I could be doing chores around the house for my wife... but why would I do that when I could do something that I've always wanted to do, something so cool, something... inevitably so frustrating. Yes ladies and gents... I'm going through ALL of the US released Hu Cards in alphabetical order. So that said, I'll be starting this epic gaming journey with Aero Blasters... what could possibly go wrong?
